We are happy to have Spare-it as our 2024 case study company!

Founded in Boston in 2018, Spare-it is the first workplace sustainability platform focused on data for people. The cleantech startup offers real-time tracking of daily waste production in the workplace. It uses the data it collects to raise awareness about sustainable practices, engage employees and students through challenges and events, and support waste reduction initiatives. Its patent-pending technology that collects live data from waste sensors running on a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) platform provides corporates an innovative way to place their employees into action and enable Corporate Social Responsibility reporting.

Since then, they have deployed to well-known organizations, from MTR, Starbucks, Cathay, Chanel, and Swire Properties, to collaborations with top universities such as MIT, Harvard, Tufts, and Boston University. They've reached a social impact of over 15,000 people, monitored over 3.2 million sq ft of space, and had an environmental impact of -20% YoT waste landfill.
